Team building: Meet our leadership coach, Janice MacPherson

Meet Parsons Dialogue’s new leadership coach and learn how the team is working together to deliver a new depth of value for clients.

May 2, 2023

We work with a lot of clients on team building. We’ve also been doing some (literal) team building of our own here at Parsons Dialogue. I’m thrilled to share that we have joined forces with an experienced, brilliant, rockstar leadership coach, facilitator and overall gem of a human, Janice MacPherson.

Everyone, meet Janice. Janice, meet everyone.

With more than 20 years of experience in non-profit, small business, HR management, leadership and entrepreneurship, Janice is the real deal. She’s an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation and a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). She’s also certified to use the emotional intelligence assessment tool EQi 2.0 and the DiSC assessment tool. (She’s a trained yoga teacher too, which is awesome.)

The dream team for our clients

Our facilitation sessions go deep, and sometimes uncover opportunities for growth at the leadership level. Our clients often seek our help during times of significant change, growth, strategic planning or conflict. It isn’t always comfortable and can be difficult for even the most experienced leaders to navigate.

With Janice on board, our clients now have access to one-on-one or team coaching, which helps build their skills and comfort with the work they are doing (or will have to do in the future). We also co-host leadership workshops, which are a great option.

Here’s how it works

When we meet with a prospective client, we ask a series of questions to help us determine how our team can add the most value. We analyze the situation and identify the facilitation tools and processes that will help the client meet their goals. If we think team or individual coaching would be beneficial, we engage Janice and work together to develop the program and proposal.

The coaching sessions can focus on teams or individuals, or both. The conversation with each client is unique, but the topics often include:

● Moving through change with resilience

● Setting and achieving goals

● Achieving more success and satisfaction at work

● Building greater confidence

● Reconnecting with their purpose

● Guidance for career change

● Developing self-awareness to enhance their leadership skills

Janice typically recommends a minimum of five coaching sessions, held once a month or over a period of eight months to a year. For example, if we are working with a client on developing and executing a strategic plan, Janice would provide coaching in between our sessions to help keep the momentum going. It helps keep leaders’ heads in the game.
